Goal
The primary objective of my project with NetHomes was to revolutionize their online presence by designing and implementing a modern, user-friendly website. This involved developing a brand identity that resonates with the target audience, improving website navigation, and optimizing the overall user experience.
Problem statement
NetHomes, expanding from Spain to Mexico, faces the challenge of adapting to local market dynamics, addressing user-specific needs, and differentiating itself in a competitive landscape. High real estate commissions in Mexico present a barrier, requiring strategic solutions to establish a trusted and user-centric presence in the Mexican real estate market.
Research
Conducted semi-structured interviews with 10 individuals (aged 28 to 55) about daily cat care challenges, preferences for cat-related services vs. dog services, and opinions on an upcoming Urban Cats app. Gathered demographic info and discussed lifestyles. Participants shared insights on app features, activities, and enhancing cat well-being. Valuable input gathered for a user-focused cat care app.

Through an Empathy Map, I sought to gain profound insights into our users, delving into what they say, do, think, and feel. The research identified a primary group of cat owners who desired the simplest way to take their cat to the vet. Discovering their pain points led us to approach the problem with a fresh perspective, offering tailored tools to address their needs comprehensively in a single, user-friendly platform.

User pain points
1
Too stressful
Cats don't like to leave their homes because they get stressed. There is no place specialized for cats.
2
Time consuming
Users need a fast and efficient service. It takes forever to take them to the vet, and also, it is tough to park near the vet.
3
Hard to get an appointment
It is not easy to schedule a future appointment, and they don't have the option of doing it online.
User persona
Based on the interviews, I created two personas and referred to them throughout the design process.

Key points to consider
-
Create a platform where the owners can monitor and review their pet's health.
-
Medical consultation at home.
-
Prevention services depend on the cat's needs.
-
Pick-up services either for consultation or grooming.
Visual design
Following the validation of low-fidelity prototypes, I transition to crafting the design system. This involves collaborating with the brand design team and creating high-fidelity product designs. Defining elements like color palette and typography is crucial, tailored to business goals and user satisfaction. I work on a scalable design system, iteratively refining the user interface with thorough color and accessibility tests, while ensuring alignment with user preferences through continuous validation.

Sketches
Based on the established pain points, I sketched multiple options to test and see how initiating minimal changes optimizes the user experience. During the redesign process, I continued referring to the target audience, and my goal was to improve the user experience rather than make design changes. After a few rounds of iterations, I came to a good place with the solutions.

Lo-fidelity
After creating the initial sketches, I progressed to developing low to mid-fidelity prototypes, enhancing the design further.

Digital Wireframes
Continuing with the procedure, I transformed the initial Low-Fi paper prototypes into polished Hi-Fi versions.
